About The Role In this remote, full-time Robotics Engineer role, you will design, integrate, and validate robotics software for autonomous and semi-autonomous robots, partnering with distributed teams through Rex.zone. Key Responsibilities Develop robotics features using ROS 2 with C++ and PythonBuild perception pipelines with camera/LiDAR/IMU and sensor fusionDevelop and tune SLAM/localization and mapping modulesImplement motion planning, trajectory optimization, and collision checkingDevelop and validate control systems (PID, MPC, or similar)Create simulation scenarios in Gazebo / Isaac Sim for reproducible testingSet up automated testing, QA evaluation, and regression/performance benchmarksDebug field issues using logs, telemetry, and reproducible test cases on Linux Required Qualifications Mid-Senior experience delivering robotics/autonomy softwareStrong production C++ and Python skillsROS/ROS 2 fundamentals (nodes, topics, TF, lifecycle, Nav2 or similar)Hands-on experience with sensors and calibrationAbility to define metrics and drive measurable performance improvements Compensation Competitive hourly base pay: $30–$50 per hour (USD), based on experience and scope.
