Roadway Team Leader
Job Summary
Provide leadership and management of transportation design projects (Highways, Roadways, Bicycle/Pedestrian facilities), develop project/task schedules, facilitate coordination with subconsultants and internal design team members, provide oversight of plans production, prepare plans, cost estimates, reports, and calculations required for client deliverable packages, lead engagement and interaction with design teams, clients, and project stakeholders, geometric design for roadways/interchanges, drainage design, construction sequencing and traffic control, utility relocation coordination, marketing activities including proposal preparation and presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
- Licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Tennessee, or ability to obtain reciprocity within three months of hire
- 10-15 years or more years of relevant experience
- Practical working knowledge of AASHTO Green Book, Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, TDOT Design manuals and processes
- Experience with Microstation, Geopak, Open Roads Designer or other roadway design software
- Good interpersonal skills and a team-first mentality
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Previous experience in consulting engineering with a primary focus on TDOT (or other DOT) transportation project design
