Roadway Engineering Team Leader

About the role

The Roadway Engineering Team Leader is responsible for overseeing a team of roadway engineers in the Edwardsville IL, St. Louis MO, Belleville IL, Champaign IL, and Springfield IL areas. This position involves leading projects, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the roadway engineering team
• Manage project budgets and ensure cost efficiency
• Ensure all projects comply with federal, state, and local regulations
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate project timelines and resources
• Develop and implement safety protocols for the team
• Train and mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Minimum 5 years of experience in roadway engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Qualifications

• Knowledge of roadway design and construction practices
• Experience with project management software
• Understanding of traffic engineering principles
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
