About the role

This position is part of the growing RNG Team within NextEra Energy’s Power Generation Division. The RNG-Production Technician III is responsible for the operations portion of the plant by monitoring, operating, and maintaining equipment within our RNG production facility. This includes compressors, pumps, valving, and any other process equipment to ensure a steady supply of spec-grade feedstock RNG is maintained and processed through the facility.

The RNG-Production Technician III performs routine inspections and maintenance tasks to ensure equipment is in optimal condition, identifying and addressing any issues promptly. They ensure compliance with safety regulations and guidelines, maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and production activities, and collaborate with the team to maintain a clean and organized work environment.

Responsibilities

• Monitor plant operations
• Assist with startup, shutdown, and operations of facility equipment
• Identify and resolve problems that arise
• Ensure strict adherence to safety and environmental rules and programs
• Carry out site inspections and audits
• Perform preventative and maintenance measures
• Observe gauges, dials, switches, alarms, and other indicators to ensure proper machine operation
• Comprehend and interpret P&IDs and SOPs
• Maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment
• Work shifts and overtime as needed
• Operate a forklift to move materials and products safely within the facility
• Monitor and troubleshoot operating equipment
• Manage clear and concise documentation
• Maintain communication with plant personnel and management
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective action for process deviations
• Use scientific rules and methods to solve problems
• Conduct area inspections and audits
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid Driver’s License (non-CDL)

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
