RN Unit Manager

About the role

The RN Unit Manager oversees nursing staff, manages daily operations, and ensures the delivery of safe, efficient, and therapeutic patient care in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation environment.

Responsibilities

• Interpret facility policies and state laws related to nursing.
• Participate in safety procedures.
• Communicate nursing activities and issues to higher management.
• Recommend supplies, equipment, and staffing needs.
• Conduct routine checks on staff and resources.
• Assist in hiring, promotion, suspension, or termination of nursing personnel.
• Support in-service education programs and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Investigate complaints.
• Assume charge of the floor in the absence of charge nurses.
