About the Role
The RN Unit Coordinator demonstrates proficiency in nursing practice for assigned specialty area and provides clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care in a department. Under the direction of the department manager, leads safety and quality initiatives, focuses on and simplifies workflow, and contributes to the development of staff. Increase staff satisfaction and promotes excellent (Gold Standard) customer service.
Work Shift
Full time, 36 hours per week Night Shift
Education
- Virginia or Compact Multi-state RN (Registered Nurse) license in good standing.
- ACLS & PALS or ENPC within one (1) year of hire.
- BLS within 90 days of hire.
- RN-Bachelor’s Degree
- RN-Master’s Degree Certification/Licensure
Experience
- Experienced RN 18 months nursing experience required.
- BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.
Responsibilities
Our unit experiences a quick turnover of patients and provides care for patients with complex needs across a wide range of surgical specialties, including:
- Vascular
- Neurosurgery
- General Surgery
- Orthopedic
- Podiatric
- Colorectal
- Bariatric
- Plastic
- Gynecologic
- Urologic
The unit works closely with surgeons and the multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional postoperative care. In addition to postoperative care, we occasionally provide care to patients with general medical needs.
Requirements
Experienced RN 18 months nursing experience required. BSN required; Master degree preferred, if the graduate degree is not in nursing then the BSN is required.
