RN Triage - Pulmonary

About the role

The Triage Nurse is responsible for assessing patient needs via inbound and outbound calls, providing clinical assessments, patient education, and managing immediate and ongoing care. Duties include phone triage, glucose monitor placement, testing, insurance authorizations, referrals, and maintaining exam rooms.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate caller needs through active listening and clinical judgment
• Manage patient care with attention to acute and preventative interventions
• Coordinate patient education and follow-up
• Perform administrative tasks such as testing, referrals, and room maintenance

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN licensure
• CPR certification (AHA)
• Office RN and BSN preferred

Skills

• Self-motivated, able to handle high-stress situations
• Physical ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Effective communication skills in English

Requirements

• Flexibility for travel and varied hours to meet operational needs
