RN Triage/Field - Nights

About the role

Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, serves families in southwest Florida with compassionate care. The RN – Triage/Field Visits position involves providing clinical, physical, educational, and emotional support to patients after hours, managing symptoms, and attending patient deaths.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient assessments and manages discomfort under the direction of a licensed physician.
• Utilizes specialized nursing skills for palliative and end-of-life care.
• Provides education and emotional support to patients and families.
• Attends patient deaths and offers bereavement support.
• Documents patient services accurately and updates the Plan of Care and other records.

Requirements

• Graduate of an approved nursing program and current Florida RN license.
• Valid and current CPR certification.
• One year experience in acute-care Hospital environment, preferably in Hospice.
• CHPN certification within three years of employment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in acute-care Hospital environment providing direct patient care.
• Previous experience as a Hospice RN preferred.
• Equivalent combination of professional experience and education may be considered.

• Ability to manage stress and provide compassionate care.
• Knowledge of palliative and end-of-life care practices.

Schedule

Weekday nights, alternate weekends, 32 hours per week. Shifts include 8p-8a and 12a-8a.
