About the role

The Nurse Trainer is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for overseeing nursing services in residential programs for individuals with developmental disabilities or brain disorders.

Responsibilities

  • Train and certify non-licensed staff in medication administration, health tasks, and emergency procedures in compliance with He-M 1201 regulations.
  • Develop individualized healthcare plans.
  • Monitor residents' health and ensure medication safety.
  • Provide nursing consultation.
  • Maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in quality assurance activities.
  • Stay updated on regulations and standards.

Requirements

  • Licensed RN in the state.
  • Completion of the Nurse Trainer orientation.
  • Preferred 2+ years of nursing experience, especially in developmental services or behavioral health.
  • Strong communication and teaching skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel between sites; may require on-call availability.
