About the role
The Nurse Trainer is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for overseeing nursing services in residential programs for individuals with developmental disabilities or brain disorders.
Responsibilities
- Train and certify non-licensed staff in medication administration, health tasks, and emergency procedures in compliance with He-M 1201 regulations.
- Develop individualized healthcare plans.
- Monitor residents' health and ensure medication safety.
- Provide nursing consultation.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Participate in quality assurance activities.
- Stay updated on regulations and standards.
Requirements
- Licensed RN in the state.
- Completion of the Nurse Trainer orientation.
- Preferred 2+ years of nursing experience, especially in developmental services or behavioral health.
- Strong communication and teaching skills.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to travel between sites; may require on-call availability.
