RN Throughput Coordinator - Evenings and Nights

Registered Nurse position located in Skokie, IL. Part‑time role (24 hours per week) with no required travel.

Responsibilities

The RN Throughput Coordinator is responsible for coordinating safe, timely, and equitable patient placement using clinical judgment, bed availability data, and interdisciplinary collaboration. This role promotes critical thinking through evidence-based decision-making, effective communication, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement in throughput processes. The RN Throughput Coordinator acts as a liaison between nursing units, providers, the ED, procedural areas, and ancillary departments to optimize hospital capacity and support high-quality outcomes. This role provides hospital and system wide oversight for patient flow.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required; Master’s Degree in a health‑related field preferred
• License: Current, unrestricted RN license in the State of Illinois.
• Certification: Current BLS from the American Heart Association
• Experience: Minimum of three years of progressive acute care nursing experience, with at least one year in a formal or informal leadership role (e.g., Charge Nurse, Team Lead, Supervisor).
