RN Supervisor (Night Shift)

About the role

The RN Supervisor is responsible for providing nursing care to residents in the Health Care Center, overseeing the nursing department, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and maintaining a clean, safe, homelike atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the nursing department in Health Care Center, and assist with Assisted Living and Memory Care needs as needed.
• Maintain and troubleshoot staffing schedules, and evaluate nursing personnel performance.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments, observe resident conditions, and notify appropriate parties of resident's condition.
• Participate in daily rounds, new admission entry process, and handle resident, family, or physician complaints.
• Assure resident rights are maintained, and provide emotional and spiritual support to family and other staff.
• Respond to life-threatening situations, and participate in organizational safety programs and performance improvement activities.

Requirements

• Understanding of Point Click Care or similar systems.
• Experience in long-term care.
• Knowledge of monitoring medication.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently.
• Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multi-tasking.
• Comfortable performing continuous physical exertion as needed.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing recommended.
• Current Illinois Registered Nurse License in Illinois.
• Basic Life Support (CPR).
• One year experience as a charge nurse or nursing supervisor required.
• Experience with elderly.
• Proficient written and oral communication skills.
