RN Supervisor 11-7 (every other weekend)

About the role

The RN Registered Nurse Shift Supervisor plans, controls, and executes the nursing services required by the residents. Supervises the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility in accordance with local, state, and federal requirements to ensure residents receive the highest quality of care at all times. Together with the Nursing Director, the RN Shift Supervisor plans the operation of nursing services and the provision of emergency support requirements for their tour of duty. They coordinate nursing activities to align with medical needs, physician instructions, and the general nursing care plan, while also adjusting care plans to meet emergency medical needs in conjunction with medical staff.

In the absence of superiors, the RN Shift Supervisor assumes total responsibility for operating decisions required by the circumstances. They manage emergency situations as needed, ensure the presence of appropriate relief staff before leaving the facility, and notify residents' personal physicians of significant changes in condition or immediate medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute nursing services required by residents.
• Supervise day-to-day nursing activities in compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Plan the operation of nursing services and emergency support for your tour of duty.
• Coordinate nursing activities based on medical needs, physician instructions, and the general nursing care plan.
• Adjust care plans to meet emergency medical needs in collaboration with medical staff.
• Assume total responsibility for operating decisions in the absence of superiors.
• Manage emergency situations as they arise.
• Ensure appropriate relief staff are present before leaving the facility.
• Notify residents' personal physicians of significant changes in condition or immediate medical needs.

Requirements

• Must hold a current state RN license and be a nurse in good standing.
• Must meet all applicable federal and state licensure requirements.
• Ability to supervise and instruct others.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail, good follow-through skills, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Previous experience in a hospital or long-term care facility (preferred).
