Registered professional nurse responsible for direct and/or indirect care of the patient at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital in Murphy, NC.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to the NCBON RN Nursing Laws and Rules.
- Assessment: Collect, verify, and interpret data in relation to health; formulate nursing diagnosis.
- Planning: Identify patient needs; determine priorities of nursing diagnosis, goals, and interventions; develop a plan of care.
- Implementation: Implement the plan of care, including procuring resources; assign, delegate, and supervise licensed and unlicensed personnel.
- Evaluation: Evaluate effectiveness of nursing interventions and achievement of expected outcomes; modify the plan of care as needed.
- Collaborating: Communicate and work cooperatively with individuals whose services may affect patient care; coordinate and implement nursing care within the multidisciplinary team.
- Teaching and Counseling: Teach and counsel clients, families, and groups; identify learning needs; develop and evaluate teaching plans; make referrals to appropriate resources.
- Managing Nursing Care: Supervise, teach, and evaluate nursing personnel; report and record care; administer nursing services; accept responsibility for self; participate in performance improvement.
Requirements
- Education:
- Required: Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
- Preferred: Graduate of an accredited four-year Nursing Program (BSN).
- Experience:
- Required: One year of medical/surgical acute care experience or at department manager's discretion.
- License/Certification/Registration:
- Required: Current, unrestricted North Carolina RN licensure or Multi-State Nursing Compact Licensure.
- BLS certification completed prior to going to the unit/department and maintained thereafter.
- ACLS required within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
- PALS required within 6 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
- Basic de-escalation training/certification within 6 months of hire.
- Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) or Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training within 6 months of hire and then annually thereafter.
- NIHSS required prior to completion of departmental orientation and maintained thereafter.
- North Carolina licensure or multistate licensure from a compact state must be obtained within three months of hire for non-North Carolina residents.
Schedule
Regular full-time hours.
