Staff Nurse, Neuro ICU - Full-Time, Nights

About the Unit

This department is a 24-bed patient unit dedicated to providing the highest level of care to patients with complex neurological conditions. The team is committed to staying at the forefront of clinical research, constantly seeking new treatment options and best practices to improve patient outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to work with some of the most advanced equipment available, specifically designed to meet the unique needs of our patient population. Essential Job Functions

• Utilizes appropriate assessment skills to determine patient needs.
• Develops a plan of care for those patients whose needs do not require the expertise of a Case Manager or collaborates with the Case Manager to develop a plan of care for specified patients.
• Assumes charge nurse responsibilities as assigned by Care Center Director or Patient Care Manager.
• Provides support to peers by assisting as needed, being a resource person and working as a team member.
• Assists Care Center in development/attainment of goals and objectives.
• Uses clinical pathways and/or plans of care incorporating standards of practice.
• Assesses own need for professional growth and development and seeks appropriate resources to meeting needs.
• Attends continuing education programs and participates in program evaluation.

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an NLN accredited School of Nursing
• Associate Degree Nurses are required to enroll in a BSN program within six (6) to nine (9) months of hire, and make progress toward and complete their BSN degree within 30 months. ADN nurses receive 100% tuition reimbursement towards a BSN degree from an accredited program.
• Current Illinois RN license
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree or higher
• 2+ years of ICU experience

• Full-Time (0.9)
• Nights, 7pm-7:30am

Compensation offered at the time of hire will vary based on candidate qualifications and experience and organizational considerations, such as internal equity.
