RN Staff Nurse Cardiac Cath Lab Full-time with Call

About the Role
The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and/or indirect care of patients in the Cardiac Cath Lab. The RN assesses patients, administers pharmacological drugs as ordered, performs procedures, operates equipment necessary for assigned patient care, and assists physicians with procedures. Responsibilities include maintaining familiarity with sterile technique, Cath lab equipment, procedures, and radiation safety.
The RN must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status. They must interpret appropriate information to identify each patient's requirements relative to age-specific needs and provide care as described in the unit's policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and indirect patient care in the Cardiac Cath Lab.
- Assess patient status and interpret data to meet age-specific needs.
- Administer pharmacological drugs as ordered by physicians.
- Perform procedures and operate Cath lab equipment.
- Assist physicians with procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
- Ensure compliance with radiation safety protocols.
- Follow unit policies and procedures for patient care.
Requirements
- Current Tennessee RN license.
- BLS certification (completed before arrival to the unit/department and maintained).
- Current ACLS certification.
- Current PALS certification.
Qualifications
- Education:
- Required: Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
- Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Experience:
- Required:
- Knowledge of general nursing principles and practice skills.
- Knowledge of organizational functions, policies, and regulations.
- Knowledge of current trends and new developments in the cardiovascular arena.
- Preferred: Previous clinical experience as an RN-CVS in a Cardiac Cath Lab.

- Preferred: Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) is encouraged after one year of employment.
