RN Staff - Mother Baby - PT -3rd Shift

About the role

RNs on our 38 bed Mother/Baby unit provide family centered couplet care. Shortly after delivery, a dedicated team of nurses help mom and baby with skin-to-skin bonding and breastfeeding. The Mother Baby unit allows for rooming-in, lactation support, and designated quiet hours.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and prioritize care based on assessments.
• Care for postpartum mothers and newborns.
• Collaborate and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary team members.
• Receive ongoing education and training related to maternal/newborn care and breastfeeding.

Requirements

• Graduate of state board School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
• Experience preferred; new graduates accepted.
• BLS and NRP required within 6 months of hire.

• Education: Graduate of state board School of Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.

Skills

• Skilled in assessing, educating, and caring for postpartum mothers and newborns.
• Effective communication and collaboration with multidisciplinary team members.
• Knowledge of maternal/newborn care and breastfeeding.
