RN Staff - Mother Baby - FT - 3rd Shift

About the role

RN positions on the 38-bed Mother/Baby unit provide family-centered care for postpartum mothers and newborns. The unit supports rooming-in, lactation support, and designated quiet hours.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and prioritize care based on assessments.
• Care for postpartum mothers and newborns, including skin-to-skin bonding and breastfeeding support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
• Participate in ongoing education and training related to maternal and newborn care.

Requirements

• Graduate of a state-approved nursing school with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
• BLS and NRP certification required within 6 months of hire.

Qualifications

• Experience in maternal and newborn care is preferred but not required.

Skills

• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong assessment and decision-making abilities.
