About the role
We provide direct patient care in a specialty unit, adhering to the organization's scope and standards of practice. Our team collaborates across disciplines to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Responsibilities
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
- May precept student nurses and new hires.
- Collaborates with other professionals to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and support for patients' spiritual and psychosocial needs.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to achieve optimal outcomes and resource utilization.
- Maintains accurate documentation of patient condition and communicates this information as necessary.
- Identifies learning needs of patients and families and provides appropriate education tailored to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Requirements
- Accredited Program: Nursing
- ACLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- Registered Nurse License (State of Florida)
Qualifications
- One (1) year of nursing experience required.

Department Specific Credentials
- ONCC Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider Certificate (for those RNs administering chemotherapy)
- APHON Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider card (for RNs administering chemotherapy for oncologic indications in the pediatric setting)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (required for ICU, ED, PACU, Endo, Tele, OB, MHN Pre-Op and Specialty Procedural areas)
- PALS certification (required for Pediatric areas with the exception of NICU)
- NRP certification (required for NICU)
- Fetal Monitoring certification (Intermediate or Advanced) for L&D RNs (must be completed prior to job orientation)
- ACLS and BLS certifications (newly licensed RNs have six months to obtain these certifications)
