About the role

We provide direct patient care in the cardiac ICU, which may include transplant patients. The role adheres to established scopes and standards of practice, and aligns with the organization's policies, values, and mission.

Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and utilize resources effectively.
• Maintains close monitoring of patient conditions and communicates these updates as necessary.
• Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care, including coordination of patient discharge plans, referrals, and support for spiritual and psychological needs.
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed to ensure efficient patient care delivery.
• May serve as a preceptor for student nurses and new hires, guiding them through the nursing process.
• Evaluates the learning needs of patients and families; educates them about their health conditions, treatments, and lifestyle changes.

Requirements

• Accredited Program: Nursing
• BLS American Heart E-Card
• BLS Cert American Heart
• BLS Cert Red Cross
• PALS American Academy of Pediatrics
• PALS American Heart
• PALS Red Cross
• Registered Nurse License (RN LICENSE)

Qualifications

• One (1) year of cardiovascular and/or intensive care experience required.
