Program Details

The Nurse Residency program prepares new graduate nurses by teaching essential knowledge, skills, and behaviors for continuous improvement in patient care. It includes precepted orientation led by dedicated preceptors and blended learning experiences.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle, using nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. They function within organizational policies and demonstrate professional growth and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Graduate of a nursing program
  • Minimum Experience: New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
  • Minimum Licensure/Certification: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification required
  • Additional Qualifications: Bachelor's degree preferred, advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
