About the role
The 12-month, comprehensive Nurse Residency program at Piedmont Rockdale Hospital facilitates the transition from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship, and peer support. It prepares new graduate nurses by teaching essential knowledge, skills, and behaviors for continuous improvement in patient care.
Responsibilities
- Develop clinical judgment to recognize changes in patient conditions and the urgency of clinical situations.
- Cultivate excellent communication skills to engage with colleagues and support patients.
- Participate in cohort experiences designed to promote peer and professional socialization and strengthen professional commitment to nursing.
- Learn didactic content tailored to new graduates from professional nursing organizations.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Graduate of a nursing program.
- Minimum Experience: New Graduates of a nursing program eligible.
- Licenses/Certifications: Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse, BLS certification required.
Qualifications
- Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Additional Qualifications: Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
