Our 12-month, comprehensive Nurse Residency program facilitates your transition from student to professional nurse through education, mentorship, and peer support. It prepares new graduates by teaching essential knowledge, skills, and behaviors for continuous improvement in patient care.

Responsibilities

The staff nurse:

• Provides nursing care to patients from birth to end-of-life
• Utilizes nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care
• Maintains standards of practice and coordinates care activities

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

• Graduate of a nursing program
• New graduates of a nursing program eligible
• Current license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse
• BLS certification required

Additional Qualifications

Prior to 2026, additional qualifications may have been required such as:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable
