RN - Registered Nurse - Placement Services

About the role

Responsible for coordinating patient flow and inpatient capacity management, working closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure efficient transfers and patient placements that meet care needs and guidelines. Acts as a key liaison to facilitate smooth patient transitions between facilities.

Responsibilities

• Partner with physicians and inpatient units to optimize patient placement and bed utilization.
• Supervise personnel within Patient Placement, support onboarding, and foster team morale.
• Communicate operational updates and capacity issues, activating escalation protocols when needed.
• Ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and standards in patient placement activities.
• Monitor occupancy trends, plan for elective admissions, and manage resource prioritization.
• Participate in policy development, serve as a role model, and support staff professional development.
• Assist in emergency procedures and support capacity management during incidents.
• Serve as an administrative representative, providing feedback and reporting capacity issues to leadership.

Qualifications

• RN license in the relevant state.
• Minimum of three years of experience in patient placement or related capacity management.
• Strong communication, leadership, and resource planning skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a clinical environment and adhere to policies and regulations.
