Banner Staffing Services (BSS) offers Registry/Per Diem opportunities within Banner Health. These positions are a great way to start your career and are utilized as needed within our facilities. As a BSS team member, you are eligible to apply as an internal applicant to any regular opportunities within Banner Health. When working Per Diem, you must work at least 2 shifts a month.

About the Role

As a BSS RN, you will be eligible for the Banner Bedside Commitment opportunities (formerly Banner Travel). You can pick up 8, 10, or 13-week commitments at a wide variety of Banner facilities in Wyoming, Nevada, Nebraska, California, Arizona, and Colorado. The General PCU unit at Del Webb is a 21-bed unit serving Ortho/Trauma and overflow patients from the hospital’s general surgical population. You will self-schedule for 1 shift per week on the Night shift (7pm-7:30am). You may be floated within the service line at Del E Webb only, including all PCU and Observation units, and the ED if needed for task-specific support.

Registry/Per Diem positions do not have guaranteed hours, and no medical benefits package is offered.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and professional nursing standards.
  • Assess patient physical, psychological, social, spiritual, educational, developmental, cultural, and discharge planning needs.
  • Review patient history, diagnostics, and laboratory data; report abnormal results to physicians and caregivers.
  • Formulate and implement a plan of care based on patient-specific needs, including realistic and measurable goals.
  • Provide care based on physician orders and the nursing plan of care, ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Delegate and supervise care provided by other licensed nurses and personnel.
  • Promote continuity of care through accurate communication with other caregivers.
  • Evaluate patient and family response to care and teaching; revise the plan of care as needed.
  • Document assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation in the patient record in a timely and legible manner.
  • Participate in unit or facility shared leadership, education, orientation, and mentoring of staff, patients, and families.
  • Contribute to excellent patient outcomes through timely, effective, efficient, equitable, and safe care.
  • Interact with staff, physicians, patients, families, and external contacts to support patient care.
  • Synthesize and prioritize data from multiple sources to support patient and family responses to health status changes.

Requirements

  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice, temporary/interim RN license, or compact RN licensure.
  • BLS certification required; ACLS required upon hire.
  • Minimum of 18 months of RN work experience.
  • Minimum of 12 months of recent work experience on a Progressive Care Unit (within the last year and a half).
  • Experience in the clinical area for which you are applying is desired.
  • Must maintain clinical performance competencies appropriate to the area of work.
  • Completion of post-offer Occupational Health physical assessment, drug screen, and background check (including employment, criminal, and education).
  • Orientation is a full-time, week-long commitment; must be available for both virtual and in-person training during the first week.

For Banner Registry and Travel acute care positions: Minimum of one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting within the past 12 months in the specialty area. For Home Health settings: Must operate a personal vehicle with a valid driver’s license and active auto insurance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
  • Professional certification in a relevant specialty.
