Baylor Scott & White Memorial Hospital is a 636-bed specialty care teaching hospital and the only Level 1 Trauma Center between Dallas and Austin.

About the role

This is a 35-bed monitored nursing unit that provides the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients ranging from adults to geriatrics. The conditions within the scope of service include:

  • Post ICU trauma patients (serious traumatic injury to 2 or more body systems)
  • Complex plastic reconstructive surgeries (including reconstructive flaps and graft sites, post cancer reconstruction, and trauma-related reconstruction)
  • Complex ENT patients including free muscle flaps and neck dissections
  • Complex ENT reconstructive tracheostomies and laryngectomies
  • Traumatic complex fractures and musculoskeletal wounds
  • Elective joint replacements – Rapid Recovery Program
  • Sports injuries
  • Spinal deformities
  • Complicated pelvic, hip, and compression fractures
  • Skeletal malformations and abnormalities
  • Amputations and prosthesis
  • Neurosurgery, vascular surgery, general surgery
  • Medical/surgical patients including those requiring telemetry

Schedule

Full Time - Days - 36 hours per week

Requirements

  • Graduate of RN School of Nursing (ADN required)
  • Active RN license
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or within 30 days of hire or transfer

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  • RN license
  • BLS certification or obtain within 30 days of starting the role
