RN Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical - 36 Hours Weekly - Night Shift
About the role
Meet the Unit Nurse Manager! Henry Ford St John Hospital’s 6 West Medical Surgical unit is a 23-bed unit specializing in the treatment of various medical and surgical diagnoses including sepsis, kidney stones and gallstones, GI bleeds, home falls, etc. The current nurse to patient ratio is approximately 5:1, supported by Patient Care Technicians. The unit encourages voluntary participation in committees such as the Tulip Council, Fall Champion Group, and Shared Governance.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implement and monitor patient care plans.
- Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
- Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
- Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Requirements
Education/Experience Required:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing
- Required professional licensure at time of hire.
Qualifications
Certification/Licenses Required:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Sign On Bonus $7,500
Schedule
Full Time, 36 hours weekly, Night Shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, Three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday.
