About the Role

Every day, our Registered Nurses deliver excellence and compassionate care to patients in the Medical/Surgical ICU at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital in New Port Richey, Florida. This is a part-time, in-person position with a shift from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM and an every-other-weekend requirement. No on-call duties are required.

Requirements

  • Active RN (Registered Nurse) License
  • Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's, or higher degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred)
  • 1 year of RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting
  • BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
  • ACLS certification with the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Independently care for a group of ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards
  • Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team
  • Monitor, record, and update the care team on patient vitals and assessments
  • Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition
  • Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients
  • Coordinate and document discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care
  • Demonstrate high emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience, including simplifying medical terminology and concepts for patients
  • Maintain professional accountability and development
