RN - Registered Nurse - ICU - Days

About the Role

Every day, our Registered Nurses deliver excellence and compassionate care to patients in the Medical/Surgical ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital South in Riverview, Florida. This is a full-time, in-person position with a shift from 6:45 AM to 7:15 PM, including every other weekend and on-call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Independently care for a group of ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other members of the health care team.
• Address patient needs throughout their recovery in critical care.
• Monitor, record, and update the care team on patient vitals and assessments.
• Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition.
• Respond to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Coordinate and document discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
• Use high emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience, including simplifying medical terminology and concepts for patients.
• Maintain professional accountability and development.

Requirements

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) license.
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's, or higher degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred).
• 1 year of RN experience in the ICU in an Acute Care setting.
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association.
