RN - Registered Nurse Echocardiography Laboratory

Job Duties

• Assesses patient responses to medications and testing per protocols and document information in medical record.
• Assures all necessary paperwork and information is present for procedures.
• Prepares patients for procedures.
• Reviews history of allergies, medication list, etc.
• Affirms patients' understanding of the procedure and provides patient and family education.
• Ensures that patient has followed proper pre-test instructions.
• Affirms patient's physical status and compliance with Joint Commission safety goals.
• Applies monitoring equipment.
• Maintains vital signs.
• Performs emergency procedures when necessary.
• Transports equipment to patients bedside when necessary.
• Starts and regulates oxygen.
• Maintains conscious sedation patients until transferred.
• Assists with orientation of personnel and students.
• Assists in approved research activities as needed.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years RN work experience is required.
• CCU or telemetry experience is strongly preferred.
