RN - Registered Nurse - CV ICU - Days

About the Role

Join our team at Winter Haven Hospital’s Cardiovascular ICU in Winter Haven, Florida. This is a pool (as-needed) position requiring in-person work with no on-call duties. You’ll work a schedule of 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM, including 2 weekend shifts every 6 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Independently care for a group of ICU patients using the nursing process and clinical standards in a hospital setting.
• Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other members of the healthcare team.
• Monitor, record, and update the care team on patient vitals and assessments throughout their critical care recovery.
• Identify sudden or subtle changes in a patient’s medical condition and respond to medical emergencies for critical patients.
• Coordinate and document discharge planning and referrals to ensure continuity of care after discharge.
• Use high emotional intelligence to create a positive patient care experience, simplifying medical terminology and concepts for patients.
• Maintain professional accountability and pursue ongoing development.

Requirements

• Active RN (Registered Nurse) license.
• Diploma, Associate’s, Bachelor's, or higher degree in Nursing (Bachelor's preferred).
• Minimum of 18 months of ICU experience in an acute care setting.
• BLS certification with the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification with the American Heart Association.
