RN Registered Nurse - Crisis Receiving Stabilization (Millstone, NJ)

About the role

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for the CRSC located in Millstone Twp.

Responsibilities

• Provides psychiatric and medical services for adult clients within a psychosocial milieu,
• Affords assistance during medication clinic sessions,
• Administers medication orally and parenterally,
• Schedules and documents physical exams and lab tests,
• Performs AIMES Screenings, nursing assessments, intakes, consults and maintains a case load and all pertinent clinical documentation,
• Facilitates groups,
• Participates in department Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement (QA/QI)
• Reports identified safety issues such as hazardous environments, ie, damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas, and medical errors,
• Ensures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics,
• Administers medication for patients in accordance with all nursing standards,
• Provides medication education to patients and their families,
• Affords assistance in patient billing through accurate record keeping of client attendance in groups and activities daily, and medication clinic services,
• Collaborates with other program staff to interpret medical information and physician orders,
• Provides all necessary nursing services and supportive counseling to mental health consumers on an ongoing basis,
• Schedules physical exams for patients and follows through with all necessary medical care,
• Updates the patient's medical record and completes all documentation of each patient's progress, addressing current individual treatment plan goals, program attendance, and other information to describe the course and response to treatment,
• Completes data collection, analysis, and recommendations for improvements.

Requirements

• ASN or Nursing Diploma
• Licensed as Registered Nurse three to five years with one to three years experience in Mental Health field
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Proficient computer skills

Qualifications

• BLS
• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License
• NJ Driver’s License
• BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire
• National Certification preferred
