Registered Nurse (RN), Crisis Receiving Center

Position Summary/Responsibilities

Nurses will have the opportunity to work in all units at the CRC. CSU: Registered Nurses in our Crisis Stabilization Unit provide psychiatric nursing and medical detoxification to individuals in a short-term residential and therapeutic environment. 23-Hour: The program is open 24/7 for anyone voluntarily seeking support for mental health emergency or crisis. They can stay at the center for up to 23 hours, where they will get support from trained professionals. The goal is to keep beds available at hospitals and provide an alternative place for someone to stay in a crisis.

• Physical, dental, mental health assessments & discharges
• Obtaining and interpreting vital signs and weight
• Drawing and running labs and monitoring lab results
• Administering oral (PO), subcutaneous (SubQ), and/or intramuscular (IM) medications
• Educating clients regarding psychotropic/medical medication side-effects and health and wellness topics
• Initiating or responding to phone contacts with clients, medical providers, pharmacists, case managers and other providers, as appropriate, regarding medication needs, lab reports, side effects, etc.
• Documenting all pertinent nursing assessments or notes in the electronic health record, and accurately documenting medication orders and administration
• Documenting services

Requirements

• Education: Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nurse program.
• Experience: One (1) year nursing experience in the healthcare field preferred with preference to those with experience in a psychiatric or substance use setting - charge nurse experience helpful.
• Licensure/Certification: Current Registered Nurse licensure within the Commonwealth of Virginia.
• Background Check: Fingerprints, State and FBI criminal record reports, drug test, and central registry report will be required upon selection.
• Safe Driving Record: This position requires transporting clients or driving agency vehicles. Candidates must have a good driving record, which is defined as no more than two moving violations in the last three years and no criminal moving violations in the last five years.

Hiring Range

The anticipated base salary for this position is $74,042.42 to $81,015.93. Actual compensation offered within this range will be determined based on the candidate's experience, education, qualifications (knowledge, skills, and abilities), geographic location, complexity of role, and other relevant business considerations. We kindly ask that candidates do not discuss compensation until after an offer of employment is extended.

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• The employee regularly is required to stand, walk, sit, use of hand to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, controls and reach with arms and hands.
• The employee frequently lifts and or moves up to 50 pounds, carries up to 35 pounds and pushes or pulls up to 150 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
• Specific hearing for this position includes normal tones.

Local Travel

Local travel of up to 5% is possible.
