RN - PRN - Medical/Surgical Observation

About the Role

The nurse provides direct and indirect patient care, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. They utilize critical thinking, nursing processes, and compassionate care to preserve patient autonomy, dignity, and rights while restoring health whenever possible.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients accurately based on medical conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and provide age-appropriate care.
• Develop and evaluate patient and family teaching plans.
• Utilize nursing knowledge to perform treatments and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with the healthcare team and assist physicians as needed.
• Address psychosocial needs and coordinate post-discharge care.
• Practice cost-effectiveness and promote patient safety.
• Engage in lifelong professional learning.

Requirements

• Minimum one year of nursing experience.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Computer literacy required.
• RN licensure with BLS certification within 14 days of hire; ACLS/PALS certifications preferred.
