RN - PreOp-PACU - La Jolla
Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla has served the greater San Diego community since 1924, providing distinguished care with nationally ranked specialty programs. About the role
This is a full-time (60 hours per pay period), benefited position as a Registered Nurse in the PreOp-PACU department at our brand-new tower. The role features a 12-hour varied shift, with most shifts starting between 0830 and 1100 (earliest possible start is 0430, latest is 1100). The schedule includes 1-2 call shifts per 4-week period and a minimal rotation of required Saturday shifts.
Join a 62-bed perioperative unit at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla, a high-functioning, evidence-driven team within a Magnet hospital and Level I trauma center. You will prepare and recover patients across cardiac cath lab, operating room, interventional radiology, and endoscopy settings, ensuring seamless transitions and top-tier outcomes. The role emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration, cutting-edge technology, and a commitment to quality, compassion, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of RN practice, including assessment, planning, and implementing a plan of care.
- Evaluate patients' progress toward expected outcomes.
- Take primary responsibility for patients' care as delivered by the Care Team under your supervision.
- Collaborate with other members of the patient care team to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience.
- Current California RN License.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications through the American Heart Association.
- Ability to speak, read, and follow instructions in English.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and positive behaviors.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- PreOp-PACU RN experience (strongly preferred).
- ICU or Emergency Department RN experience.
- Flexibility with work environments within the department.

Pay
Position pay range: $59.16–$85.68 per hour.
