About the role
Bring your nursing expertise to the #1 hospital in Wisconsin! We are seeking a Registered Nurse - Pre/Post/PACU to deliver comprehensive perioperative and peri anesthesia care across several surgical specialties, including ENT, Cataracts, Pain, Hand, Foot, Ortho (scopes), General, and some GYN. You will be working at the Madison Surgery Center in Madison, WI.
Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive perioperative and peri anesthesia care across several surgical specialties, including ENT, Cataracts, Pain, Hand, Foot, Ortho (scopes), General, and some GYN
- Provide comprehensive care for surgical patients by preparing them for surgery, including Perioperative Checklists, IV placement and Medication Administration
- Provide care in the Outpatient PACU
- Develop a therapeutic relationship to enable the patient and family to verbalize understanding of post-surgical care and discharge teaching
Schedule
70% FTE, Monday – Friday, 8 hour day/evening shifts. No holidays, weekends, on-call or overnights. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.
Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state(s) where patients are receiving care or may work as eligible per state licensing regulations Upon Hire Required
- Basic Life Support/CPR Upon Hire Required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Upon Hire Required
Experience
- 6 months of RN experience Required
- Experience working pre/post operatively with varied surgical patient populations Preferred
- Emergency nursing, critical care, medical/surgical, or ambulatory surgery center experience Preferred
- Moderate sedation and cardiac monitoring experience Preferred
- 1 year or more of RN experience Preferred
