About the role
This position involves providing safe, comprehensive patient care in an ambulatory setting, utilizing the nursing process across diverse age groups. The nurse offers clinical leadership, mentorship, and acts as a role model for staff, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures. Key responsibilities include assisting with tests and treatments, documenting patient information, supporting patient safety, administering medications, and coordinating care with other departments. The role emphasizes patient education, promoting self-management, and fostering a patient-centered approach aligned with Medical Home standards. The nurse also responds to emergencies, maintains equipment and supplies, and reports safety concerns. Additionally, the role involves mentoring staff and supporting new personnel during orientation and evaluations.
Responsibilities
- Providing direct patient care, including assessments, treatments, and medication administration
- Supporting patient education and self-management
- Assisting with clinical procedures and tests
- Documenting patient information accurately and thoroughly
- Responding to emergencies and ensuring patient safety
- Mentoring staff and supporting new team members
- Maintaining equipment, supplies, and ensuring compliance with safety policies
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred
- Current RN licensure in NM or reciprocal agreement
- CPR/BLS certification within 30 days
- Experience with diverse patient populations and bilingual skills (preferred)
- Physical ability to perform heavy work, including lifting and moving objects or patients
- Knowledge of safety protocols, emergency response, and documentation standards
