About the role
Provide comprehensive patient care in an ambulatory setting, utilizing the nursing process for diverse age groups. Offer clinical leadership and mentorship to staff, serve as a role model, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures. Participate in patient education, coordinate care, and support emergency responses. Assist with special tests, treatments, and documentation, including medical records and lab results. Promote patient safety by following protocols, reporting concerns, and encouraging patient participation. Contribute to team efforts by processing data, handling patient calls, and managing supplies. Serve as a mentor to promote self-management and patient empowerment.
Responsibilities
- Assess patient conditions, administer medications, and assist with procedures
- Ensure safety standards and environmental conditions are optimal
- Provide patient and family education on preventive care and treatments
- Support emergency response and coordinate with medical staff
- Maintain accurate medical records and manage supplies
- Mentor staff and participate in orientation and training activities
- Promote patient-centered care and safety initiatives
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program with a Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Active RN license in NM or reciprocal jurisdiction
- CPR/BLS certification required within 30 days
- Experience or bilingual skills in English and Spanish or Native languages is a plus
- Physical ability to perform heavy work, including moving objects or patients
- Knowledge of patient safety protocols, emergency measures, and documentation practices
