Responsibilities
Registered Nurse (RN)
- Bring patients to exam room, take vital signs, and document in electronic medical record (EMR).
- Review and update medication lists to ensure accuracy and completeness for provider review.
- Complete referrals and track patient compliance.
- Review and send prescriptions electronically for provider submission.
- Obtain patient consent for procedures as directed by provider.
- Perform pre-visit planning and review quality metrics.
- Retrieve telephonic clinical information from patients calling the office.
- Monitor and complete provider-assigned tasks based on urgency.
- Educate patients on medication, testing procedures, and home care techniques.
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of patient specimens.
- Follow up with patients regarding test results as advised by provider.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including disinfecting patient care areas and equipment.
- Maintain medical and drug supply cabinets in conjunction with nursing colleagues.
- Use the EMR to communicate effectively.
- Perform quality assurance duties as assigned.
- Provide clinical visit summaries (Patient Plan) to patients, including educational materials.
- Participate in daily patient care huddles.
- Work cooperatively with colleagues to ensure quality patient care.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Administer nursing care under the direction of a Registered Professional Nurse.
- Consistently take accurate vital signs.
- Accurately collect routine patient data per protocols or as directed by clinical supervisor.
- Recognize high-risk situations and report them appropriately.
- Confer with clinical supervisor regarding the plan of care.
- Make suggestions for referrals to other disciplines.
- Follow protocols or clinical guidelines to establish workflow priorities.
- Demonstrate acceptable technical skills in providing care.
- Follow standards of care, protocols, and clinical guidelines.
- Adhere to infection control policies.
- Provide patient care considering age-related requirements.
- Reinforce patient and family teaching.
- Administer medications safely per unit policies and procedures.
- Accurately transcribe physician orders.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of computer skills relevant to the care area.
- Demonstrate initiative and flexibility with assignments.
- Function as a team member in carrying out assignments.
Requirements
Registered Nurse (RN)
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred (new graduates accepted).
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current unencumbered NYS RN license.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- 6 months of previous RN experience.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Current license to practice as a Practical Nurse in New York State.
- Graduate of an accredited school of Practical Nursing.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Ability to lift 20 lbs.
Pay
- RN: $36.00 – $47.52 per hour.
- LPN: $23.85 – $29.95 per hour.
Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates. The pay range may vary based on location.
