About the Role
Baptist Health is the largest healthcare system serving central Alabama, providing comprehensive hospital-based and outpatient services. The RN – Oncology will provide direct and indirect patient care in either the infusion treatment area or the provider’s clinic, with responsibilities including patient assessment, medication administration, responding to reactions, patient education, documentation, and provider assistance as needed. Additional duties within the scope of the role may be assigned.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient assessments
- Administer medications, including chemotherapy
- Respond to patient reactions and emergencies
- Provide patient education and support
- Document care and maintain accurate records
- Assist providers as needed
- Observe, assess, and record work, safety, and infection control standards
- Organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments
- Supervise and train employees
Requirements
- Active RN licensure
- BLS certification (required)
- Additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, Chemo, TNCC, etc.) may be required depending on area assigned
- At least 1 year of critical care or oncology experience (preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (preferred)

Primary Location: Montgomery Cancer Center. This is a regular full-time, first-shift position.
