RN - On-Call Hospice Nurse - Nights

About the Role

Works with an interdisciplinary team to meet the needs of patients and their families, providing quality end-of-life care. Follows physician orders and the policies and procedures of Mercy Hospice. Performs duties in a manner consistent with Mercy’s mission, values, and service standards.

This is a community-based float position covering Washington, MO, Lincoln County, and surrounding areas. The schedule is 40 hours per week on the evening/night shift (4:30 PM – 8:00 AM). Most patient visits occur between 4:30 PM and 10:00 PM, with lighter overnight coverage for urgent needs. The role offers autonomy and a predictable schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, end-of-life care to patients in their homes.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to address patient and family needs.
  • Follow physician orders and hospice policies/procedures.
  • Deliver care during critical evening and overnight hours.

Requirements

  • Nursing degree from an accredited school.
  • Current RN license in the state of Missouri.
  • BLS CPR Certification through the American Heart Association.
  • Licensed driver.
  • Recent hospice or long-term care experience preferred.
  • Experience with death/dying and bereavement preferred.
