On Call Hospice RN-Nights located in Essex County. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated On-Call Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role is crucial in providing after-hours care and support to hospice patients and their families. The ideal candidate will respond to patient needs during night shifts, ensuring high-quality, end-of-life care in accordance with the hospice philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to hospice patients during after-hours, addressing physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
• Respond promptly to patient calls, perform on-site visits as needed, and manage urgent patient needs.
• Assess and manage pain and other symptoms, providing comfort and relief to patients.
• Offer guidance and emotional support to families during challenging times.
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary hospice team, including physicians, social workers, and chaplains.
• Maintain accurate and timely records of patient care and communication.
• Adhere to VNA Health Group's hospice best practices, ensuring compassionate and patient-centered care, effective communication, and continuous quality improvement.

Qualifications

• Current NJ RN license.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of hospice or palliative care experience preferred.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver’s license, and proof of auto insurance.

Skills

• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.

Pay

The compensation range for this position is USD $43.00 to USD $51.00 per hour.

Schedule

Ability to work night shifts, including weekends and holidays as scheduled.
