RN Nursing Supervisor (DAY SHIFT)

About the role

Masonicare Health Center is a 260-bed Skilled Nursing Facility in Wallingford, CT. The Nursing Supervisor under the direction of the Assistant Director of Nursing and the Director of Nursing, is responsible for maintaining departmental policies, procedures, and objectives to ensure consistent nursing practice standards. They also oversee nursing activities, supervise staff, and act as a clinical resource.

Responsibilities

• Maintain established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives.
• Uphold the nursing program during off shifts through staffing coordination and supervision.
• Provide care based on physical, psycho-social, educational, safety, and related criteria.
• Interact professionally with staff, physicians, patients, and families to ensure effective and efficient care delivery.
• Communicate effectively through verbal reports and written documentation, and attend necessary administrative meetings.
• Participate in educational programs to enhance professional growth and development.
• Resolve conflicts and demonstrate management/supervisory skills.
• Communicate with staff and disseminate important information.

Requirements

• Graduate of a school of professional nursing, BS in nursing or healthcare related field preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity preferred.
• Registration and current RN license in the State of Connecticut.
• CPR certification.
