RN Nurse Practitioner - Neurocritical Care

About the role

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner specialized in Neurocritical Care to collaborate with intensivists and ICU staff in providing comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing care for neurocritical patients, including post-operative neurosurgical cases and cerebrovascular or neuromuscular conditions.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on data synthesis and evidence, including ordering and interpreting diagnostics.
• Perform technical procedures such as central venous access, arterial lines, dialysis catheters, and lumbar punctures.
• Provide management, education, and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical research activities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes and resource utilization.
• Support staff education and serve as a clinical resource.
• Identify systemic factors affecting patient outcomes and facilitate efficient patient flow.
• Maintain professional credentials, update clinical knowledge, and ensure compliance with licensure and certification requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience as a nurse practitioner in neurology or neurocritical care preferred.
• Master's or Doctoral degree as a nurse practitioner, with AGACNP preferred.
• Current nurse practitioner certification, RN licensure, BLS within 14 days of hire, and ACLS certification; ENLS preferred.
• Computer literacy required.
