RN Nurse Manager - Labor and Delivery

About the role

The position is a full-time leadership role within the Labor and Delivery unit at Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. This is a Magnet-designated hospital recognized for excellence in patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, plan, organize, and supervise personnel in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Manage, report on, and provide resources for the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Lead and communicate appropriately with physicians, other department managers, and staff.
• Under general direction, and in accordance with the State of California Nurse Practice Act, and the goals, objectives, and strategic plan of the organization, to provide leadership, plan, organize, and supervise personnel; to manage, report on, and provide resources for the Labor and Delivery unit; and to perform related work as required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
• Certified California Registered Nurse License.
• National Provider BLS - American Heart Association certification.
• 4 years supervisory experience as a registered nurse in an acute care hospital.
• Experience in Labor & Delivery nursing.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of best practice for quality delivery of care and patient safety in the Labor and Delivery unit.
• Knowledgeable resource to staff.
• Ability to lead and communicate appropriately with physicians, other department managers, and staff.

Skills

• Strong leadership skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Experience in managing a high-stress environment.
• Knowledge of labor and delivery procedures and protocols.

Pay

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
