RN - Nurse Manager, Inpatient

Inpatient Nurse Manager position in Newton, IA (only a 25-minute drive from Des Moines). Full-time leadership role overseeing the Medical-Surgical Unit, Special Care Unit, Care Coordination, and Clinical Education.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage inpatient nursing operations across multiple units.
• Oversee care coordination and collaborate with hospitalists to ensure seamless patient care.
• Develop and implement performance improvement plans and unit budgets.
• Foster a culture of safety, evidence-based practice, and multidisciplinary collaboration.
• Mentor and support nursing staff, promoting professional development and high-quality care.
• Serve as a clinical resource and role model for staff and providers.
• Represent the department in hospital committees and management meetings as needed.

Requirements

• Registered Nurse (RN) licensed in Iowa or compact state.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred (or actively pursuing).
• Minimum 5 years of clinical experience in acute care or related settings.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
• BLS certification (or obtained within 3 months of hire).
• Completion of Mandatory Reporter training within 3 months of hire.
