RN NICU New to Specialty Nights

Extended orientation opportunity for those interested in transitioning previous hospital experience into a new specialty. Mixed shift required during the orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Perform life-sustaining care for newborns in need and assess neonates at delivery, including neonatal resuscitation if necessary.
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and provide vital nutrients to newborns.
• Maintain and update records of patient care to ensure infants are breathing and maturing properly.
• Work closely with department leadership and physicians to coordinate treatment plans and examinations.
• Educate parents on day-to-day operations/goals, treatment plans, and at-home care procedures.
• Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.

Requirements

• Current State of Utah or Compact Registered Nurse License.
• Associate's Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred.
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS or BCLS) certification (available after hire).
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (available after hire).
• American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (available after hire).
• S.T.A.B.L.E. certification—must obtain within 90 days of hire and maintain.
• Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP) certification preferred; must obtain within 6 months of hire and maintain.
• One or more years of higher acuity RN experience (ICU, PCU, ER, L&D, Mom/Baby).
