RN NICU

About the role

We are seeking a(an) NICU RN for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures of Medical Center of Lewisville.
• Collaborates with patient, patient’s family and other members of the health care team to assess the nursing care needs of patients, plan interventions and evaluate outcomes of care.
• Provides direct care and/or supervises nursing care of LVN’s and non-licensed nursing staff.
• Responsible for providing care consistent with the Nursing Department’s policies, procedures and standards of practice.
• Responsible for providing care, which is appropriate to the age specific (neonates and newborns), developmental and safety needs of the assigned patient population.
• In addition to the RN duties and responsibilities, the RN scope includes charge duties.
• The charge nurse makes patient assignments and supervises and directs the staff and unit activities for the assigned shift.

Requirements

• Neonate Resuscitation must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
• Registered Nurse licensed in the state of Texas or compact license.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support, or BCLS Instructor must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• STABLE certification must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
• Cardiac STABLE must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
• 1 year of Level III NICU experience required, 2 years preferred.
