About the role

The Medical Surgical Float Pool is a dynamic opportunity to provide care across multiple units at St. Vincent Hospital, a Magnet®-designated facility known for excellence in nursing and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Affixes or delegates tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
• Maintains a safe environment and intervenes promptly when necessary.
• Shares knowledge with peers and fosters a collaborative work environment.
• Evaluates clinical care and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
• Utilizes the nursing process to develop patient care plans.
• Assesses and documents patient conditions, addressing changes and notifying relevant parties.
• Serves in additional units as needed, demonstrating adaptability and professionalism.
• Learns and applies new skills to enhance clinical practice and professional development.
• Ensures patient and family satisfaction by actively resolving concerns and advocating for their needs.

Requirements

• Criminal background clearance certificates.
• Child abuse clearance certificate.
• FBI fingerprinting criminal background clearance certificate.
• Current Pennsylvania RN license or multi-state licensure through the eNLC.
• CPR certification.
