RN - Behavioral Health (Full Time), St. Vincent
About the role
The Behavioral Health Adult inpatient unit and Geriatric Unit at St. Vincent Hospital provide specialized care for adults aged 18-65 and those 65 and over, respectively, with acute psychiatric illness or severe mental health disorders. These units also accommodate patients with comorbid substance abuse disorders and medical conditions.
Responsibilities
- Provides leadership in a professional practice setting.
- Assigns or delegates tasks based on patient needs and staff capabilities.
- Maintains a safe environment and intervenes promptly when necessary.
- Shares knowledge and skills with peers and colleagues.
- Participates in interdisciplinary teams to evaluate clinical care and services.
- Promotes patient safety initiatives and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
- Safeguards appropriate order sets and ensures LPN scope of practice is delegated appropriately.
- Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
- Affirms patient and family-centered communication and resolves concerns.
- Manages time effectively to meet assigned duties and responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Minimum Act 34, Act 33, and Act 73 criminal background clearances.
- CPR certification.
- Current State of Pennsylvania RN license or multi-state licensure through the eNLC.
- Preferred certification in a relevant specialty.
