RN Medical Surgical - Camden, SC

Under general supervision, the Registered Nurse II provides individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at the competent level utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process; delivers safe and effective care and interacts with other members of the health care team to achieve desired results.

About the role

This position is located in the Medical-Surgical 2 unit (KMC) at the Medical University Hospital Authority (MUHA). A $30,000 sign-on bonus is available to new hires with experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care using the nursing process.
• Deliver safe and effective care in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Perform job functions while standing, sitting, walking, and climbing stairs.
• Work in various environments, including indoors, outdoors, elevated areas, and confined spaces.
• Perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, squatting, pinching, and fine manipulation with hands.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. unassisted; exert up to 50 lbs. of force (e.g., transferring patients, pushing wheelchairs or stretchers).
• Maintain visual and hearing acuity, including depth perception, color discrimination, and peripheral vision.
• Work rotating shifts, overtime as required, and in a latex-safe environment.
• Manage stressful situations effectively.

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Schedule

• 36 scheduled weekly hours.
• 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend.

Pay

Hourly pay grade: Health-28.
